The SAAB-105 (another designation: SAAB Sk-60) is a Swedish training-combat and reconnaissance aircraft in the high wing configuration, with a metal structure from the post-war period. The drive - depending on the version - is provided by two motors Turbomeca Aubisque or Williams FJ 44-1C. The flight of the prototype took place in 1963, and serial production continued in the years 1963-1972, ending with the production of about 190 examples of this aircraft.
The SAAB-105 was developed at the request of the Swedish Air Force as primarily a training machine for SAAB J-35 pilots, but also as a light attack and reconnaissance aircraft. Finally, an aircraft was created with a fairly poor - especially in the first versions - avionics, but good piloting properties, considerable modernization potential and a solid construction. Several development versions were created in the course of serial production, for example: Sk-60A (basic production version - training aircraft), Sk-60B (light attack aircraft), Sk-60C (attack and reconnaissance version) or Saab 105Ö (export version, dedicated Austria, powered by other engines). Austria turned out to be the only user of the foreign SAAB-105 aircraft.
